Yacoub YacoubIn this experience, participants will learn about the history of this traditional craft, including both the Byzantine and Syrian traditions of mosaic-making.
In a period of three hours, participants will learn the basics of making mosaics enabling them to create their own piece that is inspired by the unique Jordanian traditions. This experience will definitely introduce you to the locals of Amman and Downtown. Meeting in King Al Hussein Street, participants will together head to The Duke's Mosaic Centre on foot. Reching the Centre, I will provide you with a brief introduction about the importance and history of this art in this specific area. I will also have the time to take you on a tour around the center so you can check the different pieces while hearing the story behind each. Shortly after, we will together start off with our own personal works. You will hear the instructions step by step to ensure that you create a real piece of art at the end of the experience. Taking your own creation back home will leave you forever connected to the people of Jordan and Amman.
